If the recent cooler than average temperatures have you reaching for a sweater, then you’ll be happy to know summerlike weather is set to return for your long weekend. Temperature across the region will range from 11 C to 15 C on Tuesday, which is still below average of 18 C this time of year, according to CTV News London’s Lauren Stallone. While the overnight low will dip down into the single digits again with a low of 8 C, Stallone says the next weather maker is slated to move into the region, with the main rainfall set to arrive overnight Tuesday into Wednesday. Stallone adds that there will also be a risk of a thunderstorms around midnight. Rainfall accumulation will range from 10 to 15 mm. “We will see that strong line of thunderstorms move through followed by a cold front bringing cold temperatures, risk of showers and cloud coverage Wednesday into your Thursday,” Stallone said. Wednesday will see cloudy skies with a 40 per cent chance of showers and a high of 14 C. It will be windy in the morning, with gusts of between 40 to 50 km/h expected. Grey skies will linger on Thursday with a high of 14 C, but Stallone says the sunshine and summerlike warmth returns on Friday to kick off the long weekend. “But finally, we will start to see those temperatures start to warm up Friday into your long weekend,” she said. “You can start to feel like summer is finally here.” Temperatures will soar to 20 C on Friday, 25 C on Saturday, 23 C on Sunday and 26 C on Monday, with a mix of sun and cloud and possible showers expected over the Victoria Day long weekend.
