The price of both gas and diesel increased overnight across the Maritimes. Nova Scotia Regular self-serve gasoline increased by 6.4 cents in the Halifax area. The new minimum price is 183.1 cents per litre. The price of diesel went up by 9.1 cents to a minimum price of 204.0 cents per litre. The minimum price of regular self-serve gasoline in Cape Breton is now at a minimum price of 185.0 cents per litre. The minimum price of diesel is 205.9 cents per litre. Prince Edward Island The price of regular self-serve gasoline increased by 4.6 cents on P.E.I. Motorists are now paying a minimum price of 187.3 cents per litre. The price of diesel has gone up by 5.8 cents to a minimum price of 218.4 cents per litre. New Brunswick Regular self-serve gasoline increased by 3.2 cents overnight to new maximum price of 183.1 cents per litre in New Brunswick. Diesel prices increased by 3.3 cents. The maximum price is now 209.7 cents per litre. Cost of high prices Construction companies, along with drivers, are facing the same pressures with high gas prices. “Most companies can ride out these types of increases briefly for periods of time, but over time those costs eventually have to get passed to the consumer,” said Duncan Williams with the Construction Association of Nova Scotia. “Every piece of infrastructure, any renovation, anything you touch is going to be impacted over time by these costs.” With files from CTV News Atlantic’s Hafsa Arif
