Racist comments allegedly made by Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling didn’t just upset the NBA team’s players and fans.

Major sponsors are ending or suspending sponsorship deals with the team.

Below are five companies that are taking steps in response to the leaked phone recording.

CarMax

In a statement posted on its website, the car retailer says it’s pulling sponsorship after almost a decade of working together with the team.

“CarMax finds the statements attributed to the Clippers’ owner completely unacceptable. These views directly conflict with CarMax’s culture of respect for all individuals. While we have been a proud Clippers sponsor for 9 years and support the team, fans and community, these statements necessitate that CarMax end its sponsorship.”

State Farm

The insurance company isn’t pulling the plug completely on its sponsorship deal with the Clippers, but things are on hold.

The Los Angeles Times reports that sponsor State Farm is "taking a pause in our relationship" with the NBA team in response to “offensive” remarks made in the leaked phone calls.

KIA

The automaker put the brakes on its deal with the basketball team. Here’s what the company said in a statement to USA Today:

“The comments allegedly made by Clippers owner Donald Sterling are offensive and reprehensible, and they are inconsistent with our views and values. We are suspending our advertising and sponsorship activities with the Clippers. Meanwhile, as fans of the game of basketball, our support of the players and the sport is unwavering."

Virgin America

The airline is grounding its sponsorship deal with Sterling’s team. “While we continue to support the fans and the players, Virgin America has made the decision to end its sponsorship of the L.A. Clippers,” spokesperson Jennifer Thomas told MSNBC in a statement.

AQUAHydrate

The company, owned by P. Diddy, took to Twitter to announce its decision to pull sponsorship: “In the wake of Sterling’s alleged intolerable comments we are suspending our Clippers sponsorship until the NBA completes its investigation. “
