LAS VEGAS -- A performer with a Cirque du Soleil show in Las Vegas slipped and fell on stage, marking the second injury in a week by the circus troupe.

News station KVVU-TV reports that the "Zarkana" show stopped briefly after the performer fell Tuesday night at the Aria hotel-casino.

Production spokeswoman Ann Paladie says the actor was taken to a hospital but has since been released.

It comes after a performer fell Monday during Cirque du Soleil's production of "The Beatles LOVE" at the Mirage hotel-casino.

Cirque du Soleil is known for shows that feature aerialists, acrobats and contortionists. It shuns the traditional use of animals and instead embraces acrobats, music and dance.
