Pop star Lady Gaga is being criticized for a “gun bra” costume she wears during her current tour, which resumed just one month after the deadly school shooting in Newtown, Conn.

The star is being called “insensitive” and “heartless” on social media after photos of the costume -- which features a black bra with plastic guns shooting out of each cup – surfaced after her Vancouver shows last weekend.

The singer wears the black “gun bra” with green pants and black boots.

Gaga performed two shows in Vancouver over the weekend, marking her first appearance since the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

Twenty students and six staff members were shot and killed on Dec. 14, before gunman Adam Lanza took his own life. Earlier that day, he had also shot and killed his mother.

While some criticized the star for the bra, others defended her and noted that she sported the bra before the school shooting, including in her 2010 video for the single “Alejandro.”
