Not satisfied at being a luxury sportscar builder, the British company is opening its first design consultancy.

Aston Martin Consulting (AMC) will offer others the chance to use the company's design and engineering expertise on other projects away from the automotive world.

Aston Martin CEO Dr Andy Palmer said: "We are often asked to collaborate on projects with other companies. My belief is that we can expand the provision of our expertise and experience even further."

In recent years, Aston has been approached by individuals and businesses alike to work on a host of projects from interior decorating to industrial design. The company had a hand in the development of the new double-decker London bus as well as ventures with Quintessence Yachts.

"We look forward to expanding our horizons as we work with new clients on interesting new projects," said AMC's managing director, Bradley Yorke-Biggs.
