SANTIAGO, Chile - Chile's president has visited in the hospital with a 14-year-old girl who shocked her country this week by posting a YouTube video pleading for the leader to allow doctors to euthanize her because she is tired of her struggle with cystic fibrosis. The government quickly said no.
A government statement says President Michelle Bachelet went to the Clinical Hospital of Catholic University and Saturday talked with Valentina Maureira and the girl's father for more than an hour. Officials have not released any information on what was said.
But the government released photographs of the visit, including one of Valentina taking a selfie with the president.
