The Winnipeg Police Service has made an arrest following a bank robbery in the city last week. According to police, the incident happened on Friday afternoon in the 200 block of Portage Avenue. Police allege a man went into the bank and handed a teller a note that indicated he had a weapon and demanded money. The man was given an undisclosed amount of money before he fled the scene. Officers note no weapons were seen during the incident and no one was hurt. Shortly after robbery, police were notified of the incident and began to investigate. Around 4 p.m. on Friday, officers found and arrested a suspect on a transit bus stopped at Portage Avenue and Colony Street. No weapon was found during the arrest. A 29-year-old man has been charged with robbery. He is in custody.
