Wind chills to reach -50 in parts of Manitoba

It’s going to be an extremely chilly start to the week for parts of the province as northern Manitoba experiences severely cold wind chills.

As of Monday morning, Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) has a yellow warning for cold issued in northern Manitoba. A yellow warning indicates hazardous weather with moderate, localized and short-term impacts.

According to the weather warning, affected areas will see wind chills between -45 and -50 on Monday morning.

ECCC warns that extreme cold puts everyone at risk. It urges Manitobans to watch for cold-related symptoms and to dress warmly.
