Two women have been charged after they allegedly attacked two other women with baseball bats following an argument on Canada Day. Winnipeg police responded to a residence in the 1100 block of Sherburn Street at 4:20 p.m. after receiving a report of two injured women. When they arrived, a 25-year-old woman and a 32-year-old woman were found with serious injuries. According to police, the victims were inside the home with two other women who were known to them, and an argument took place, which escalated, and the victims were allegedly attacked with a baseball bat. Police allege one of the suspects took photos of the injured women and sent them to other individuals. One of the victims was able to help identify the two suspects, who were located later that night and arrested. A 26-year-old woman and a 30-year-old woman have both been charged with two counts of aggravated assault. The 30-year-old was also charged with possession of a weapon. They were detained in custody and none of the charges have been proven in court.
