It may be a new year but in Manitoba the top girl and boy baby names of 2025 remain unchanged since 2024’s list. A provincial spokesperson said Olivia, with 73 children bearing the name, remained the most popular girl moniker. It was followed by Emma and Sophia, which switched positions. The list also included Charlotte, Ava, Ellie, Violet, Lily, Ella and Amelia. In the boy category Noah remained on top with 87 registrations. There was also a new number two on the list with Oliver climbing up from its number five position last year. Liam held strong at number three. Rounding out the top ten was Theodore, Levi, Jack, Elijah, William, Lucas and Ethan. The list includes registrations processed as of Dec. 23 - so the name lists may be subject to change.
