Manitoba has reported a small increase in measles infections. The latest update, released Wednesday, shows three new cases in June, bringing the total to 108 this year. The most recent data covers up to June 21. So far in June, there have been 17 confirmed cases of measles and four probable cases, down from 72 confirmed cases in May. Symptoms of measles start to appear between seven and 21 days after exposure and can include fever, runny nose, cough, drowsiness and red eyes. A red, blotchy rash can appear three to seven days later, starting on the face and spreading down the body. The province is urging people to check their vaccination status and get vaccinated to help prevent the spread of measles.
