A fire at a processing plant in Corman Park was extinguished without any injuries Friday night. According to the Saskatoon Fire Department, crews were called to the commercial structure fire at 10 p.m. on Aug. 21. Firefighters arrived to find light smoke coming from the second level of a large processing plant. Corman Park Police Service said the fire occurred at a business on South Floral Siding in the RM of Corman Park. Corman Park police said the fire began in a piece of equipment and was initially fought by staff using fire extinguishers before firefighters arrived. Crews searched the building to locate the source of the fire and confirmed all machinery in the affected area had been shut down and de-energized. Corman Park police said the Saskatoon Fire Department later attended and ensured the fire was fully extinguished. The fire was completely extinguished and no injuries were reported among civilians or firefighters. The scene was turned over to the Corman Park Police Service for further investigation.
