A Wednesday night storm has left tens of thousands of people without power across southern Manitoba. In a Thursday morning social media post, Manitoba Hydro said severe weather caused outages for more than 30,000 customers. The Crown corporation added that crews are currently assessing damage and working on the largest outages first in order to restore power to the greatest number of customers as soon as possible. The Crown corporation advises Manitobans who come across downed power lines to stay 10 metres back and call 911. CTV News has reached out to Hydro for more information regarding the outages and times of restoration and is awaiting a response. Manitoba Hydro’s full power outage map can be viewed online.
