Spring break hours and activities in Winnipeg

Kids enjoy an acrobatic performance at the The Forks during the 15th annual Festival of Fools.

The City of Winnipeg will offer free programming and events at its facilities throughout spring break from Mar. 30 to April 3.

Winnipeg Public Libraries

Free events will be held at library branches across the city for families, kids and teens. Programs include animation workshops, bookmaking, writing workshops, storytelling, and musical performances by Aaron Burnett, the Manitoba Chamber Orchestra, and more.

City of Winnipeg Aquatics

The Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex will be the only pool open on Good Friday, April 3 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

All pools will close at 4:00 p.m. on Easter Sunday.

On Easter Monday, Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex will open from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m along with Pan Am from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. All other pools are closed on Easter Monday.

Festival of Fools

The Festival of Fools returns to The Forks for seven days of family fun featuring jugglers, clowns, acrobats, swinging trapeze and circus workshops.

The free event takes place daily from 11 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and runs Mar. 28 to April 3.

Children's Museum

The Children’s Museum is offering daily events hosted by special guests throughout the week included with the price of admission. Kids can take in the interactive sessions Monday to Saturday, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Assiniboine Park Zoo

Assiniboine Park will be offering daily spring break activities from Mar. 28 to April 5.

Visitors can catch a sneak peak of the popular zookeeper talks featured in summer, including a special introduction to Humphrey the polar bear, and a Manitoba-inspired treat to welcome him to Winnipeg. Other events include a paw print pursuit, meeting zoo mascot Winston and crafts at the Tundra Grill.

The zoo is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily. Spring/summer hours start Good Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Canadian Museum for Human Rights

Families are invited to take part in activities connected to human rights stories during spring break at the CMHR.

The museum will offer special programming geared to different age groups with the price of admission. For a full list of activities visit humanrights.ca.

The CMHR will be open every day through April 6, including Mondays, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and until 8 p.m. on Wednesdays. Free admission is offered on Wednesday, April 1 between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Guided tours are also available for an additional $5 per person and are offered more frequently during spring break.
