A 71-year-old man has been charged after he allegedly robbed a Winnipeg bank Monday morning. According to Winnipeg police, the robbery took place at approximately 10:30 a.m. at a bank in the 3200 block of Portage Avenue. Police allege a man went into the bank and passed a note to a staff member carrying demands and included a threat he was armed. The man received property and then fled from the area in a taxi. The man was found a short time later at a business in the 1900 block of Portage Avenue and arrested without incident. He has been charged with armed robbery and possession of fentanyl and detained in custody. The charges have not been proven in court.
