RCMP searching for handcuffed man who escaped police custody

The Manitoba RCMP is helping in the search of a man who escaped custody of the Manitoba First Nations Police Service (MFNPS) on Thursday night.

Byron Roulette, who was arrested by the MFNPS earlier on Thursday, was last seen around 7:30 p.m. in the 500 block of 5th Street SE in Portage la Prairie, Man. Police said Roulette, 26 is handcuffed, has blood stains on his shoes and is wearing grey-brown shorts. He is also believed to be shirtless.

If you see Roulette, call 911 immediately and do not approach him.

RCMP noted there is a large police presence around 5th Street SE and Queens Avenue in Portage la Prairie as police search for the missing suspect.

Portage la Prairie residents are asked to be on the lookout and report any suspicious activity.

Anyone with information on Roulette’s location is asked to call 911, the RCMP at 204-857-4445 or the MFNPS at 204-843-7700.
