Manitoba RCMP is investigating an Alberta man’s disappearance in northern Manitoba as a possible drowning. According to a news release, Mounties from the Thompson rural detachment responded to a report of a man missing in Kelsey near the Nelson River. James Redmond, 60, hasn’t been seen since Monday at 5:30 a.m. RCMP said they were told he would go fishing from the shore of the Nelson River. Mounties searched the shoreline near his cabin, and some of his gear and belongings were found roughly 200 metres upstream from the dam at Kelsey Generating Station. Drones and a diving company are now searching the river for Redmond.
