Mounties have launched a homicide investigation into the death of a 49-year-old man over the weekend. In a news release Tuesday, RCMP said officers responded to reports of an aggravated assault in the RM of Ste. Anne on Saturday night shortly after 11:30 p.m. Police said they found the 49-year-old with life-threatening injuries. He was taken to hospital but died from his injuries a few hours later. His death is being investigated as a homicide. Police did not release his name, details regarding the incident, or if anyone has been arrested or charged in the matter. An RCMP spokesperson told CTV News they will provide an update when investigators release more information.
