Manitoba Premier Brian Pallister says he wants a "Team Manitoba" effort to lure Amazon to Winnipeg.

The online retail giant announced last week that it planned to establish a second North American office, and many cities have already expressed their interest.

Pallister says Winnipeg's central location in North America, transportation infrastructure, well-educated workforce, green energy and low cost make it the best choice.

Cities have until Oct. 19 to apply through a special website, and Amazon says it will make a final decision next year.
