Nuit Blanche returning to Winnipeg with over 100 art events

Nuit Blanche General Manager Kurt Tittlemier shares how Nuit Blanche ties into a larger celebration of community and culture

A nighttime celebration of contemporary art is set to illuminate Winnipeg’s Exchange District and downtown this Saturday.

The free event, organized by Culture Days Manitoba, returns with more than 100 activities scheduled between 6 p.m. and midnight, offering a multi-generational experience.

“We have things for kids, youth, seniors — everyone’s welcome to come down,” said Kurt Tittlemier, general manager of Culture Days Manitoba.

He said attendees should expect “the unexpected and a tour downtown.”

“I don’t think you’re doing Nuit Blanche right if you just stay at one location. It’s really the programs laid out that you can explore downtown, encounter these different works.”

In addition to the Exchange District and downtown, events will also take place at The Forks and in St. Boniface.

“I think you should make a plan, but also don’t stick yourself to the plan — just go with the night,” Tittlemier said.
