Winnipeg police are investigating after a man died in the aftermath of an assault at a Winnipeg business. Officers were called to the business in the 200 block of Salter Avenue shortly after 8 p.m. on Monday for a report of a “serious incident.” When officers arrived, they learned a man went to the business and was approached by several people. “An argument ensued, which escalated to the point where the victim was assaulted with a weapon,” police wrote in a news release, adding that suspects had fled the scene before cops arrived. The victim was taken to hospital in critical condition, where he died from his injuries. He has been identified as Kyle Christoper Desjarlais, 34.
