After a sunny start through southern Manitoba on Tuesday, clouds intensify into the afternoon. Temperatures through most of the Parkland and Red River Valley will peak a few degrees below seasonal in the low twenties alongside light winds. For Winnipeg, 24 C is expected, when 26 C is seasonal. Brandon, Neepawa and Dauphin can expect similar highs, if not a degree or two cooler. Skies are clearer to the northwest with highs expected in the mid-twenties. Winds in that region will be stronger out of the northwest at 20 km/h. Very northerly corners like Churchill will contend with showers or rain off and on throughout the day. Meanwhile, air quality warnings continue in and around Lynn Lake due to ongoing wildfire smoke. However, shifting winds are expected to push smoke into central regions so those advisories could expand. Back in Winnipeg, skies are expected to stay mostly cloudy overnight as temperatures dip to 14 C. Into Wednesday, a warmer airmass settles over much of southern Manitoba, with highs expected to reach the upper twenties under sunnier skies. The mercury is just getting warmed up from there, with highs expected to crack the 30 C mark throughout much of southern Manitoba into the weekend and the start of next week.
