More than 90,000 units of a popular hair product have been recalled in Canada. According to a Health Canada notice on September 21, the recall affects the 6.76-fluid-ounce (200-millilitre) Schwarzkopf Professional Osis Grip Mousse, sold between November 2023 and June 2026. The product was manufactured in Hungary. The notice says the recalled product has packaging issues that can cause it to leak when the container is under pressure. “The leakage and resulting pressure may cause the package to burst, which could result in injury or property damage,” it adds. As of Sept. 18, the company had received one report of an incident in Canada, but Health Canada said there had been no reports of injuries. The recall affects the following 25 batches: 2901X4577N, 2901X4578N, 290265P91O, 290665Q30O, 290855N31O, 290866R38P, 290994281N, 291046L06P, 291174W17N, 291435H76O, 291435H77O, 291455N33O, 291515A59O, 291515A99O, 291515B01O, 291555N33O, 291615B01O, 291616B68P, 291716B69P, 291825E960, 291925E96O, 292015B73O, 2928Y538BO, 2928Y539BO and 293066U32P. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled product and return it to the place of purchase for a refund. Consumers can also contact the company’s consumer support at skpcanada-support@henkel.com. Health Canada also advises consumers to report any health or safety incidents involving the product through its Consumer Product Incident Report Form. The recall follows a similar action by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on Aug. 11, where the product was distributed across 12 states.
