A large piece of Manitoba Hydro equipment will be on the move tonight and it’s taking a scenic route through southern Manitoba. According to a social media post, the equipment is making the trek from south Winnipeg to Deacons Corner over the next couple of days. Manitoba Hydro is warning some customers may lose power while the equipment is on the move. “Some customers along the route may experience brief outages of up to 15 minutes,” Hydro wrote. “Exact outage times will depend on the progress of the move, but we’ll work to safely restore power as soon as possible.” Hydro said the move will start around 9 p.m. this evening on Rockman Street in Winnipeg. According to a map provided by the Crown corporation, the equipment will be transported out to Oak Bluff via McGillivray Boulevard, east on the South Perimeter Highway, and then south on Waverley Street to a spot south of La Barriere Park near Highway 247. The move will continue Tuesday down Highway 75, through Saint Adolphe on PH 210, up Highway 59, and back onto the South Perimeter before arriving north of Deacons Corner near Dugald Road.
