Heavy police presence in Winnipeg neighbourhood on Wednesday for ‘active investigation’

Police were involved in an ‘active investigation’ in a Winnipeg neighbourhood after a man was found injured.

Numerous Winnipeg police vehicles were on scene in the Meadows West area on Wednesday afternoon.

The Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) initially released few details about the situation, but said a person was found hurt near King Edward Street and Garton Avenue.

The service added it was an active, ongoing investigation.

CTV News has reached out to WPS for an update and is awaiting a response.
