Campers are getting a brief window to evacuate a flooded-out provincial park. Manitoba Parks said late Friday night Campers and cottagers at Childs, Wellman and Blue lakes in Duck Mountain Provincial Park will be escorted out. That’s happening from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. People were asked to travel south to Grandview via PR 366, where staging begins at 10 a.m. at the intersection with PR 367. Manitoba Parks said trailers must be left at the campsites. “The temporary access route will close at 1 p.m. to allow construction work to continue and may remain closed for at least a week,” Manitoba Parks post said. Those at Singush Lake are asked to shelter in place, as both sides of the lake along PR 367 are still washed out. “Those who choose not to leave must be prepared to continue sheltering in place and have sufficient medication, food and supplies for at least one week,” the post said. Those leaving Grandview to head back north to Swan River are asked to travel west on PTH 5, through Roblin into Saskatchewan to Wroxton. Manitoba Parks o said to turn north on Highway 8 through Kamsack to Pelly. Then, at Pelly, turn east on Highway 49 into Manitoba to PTH 83 and turn north on PTH 83 to Swan River. If headed east from Grandview, the post said to travel east on PTH 5 to Dauphin.
