Dozens of cars stopped on highway after teens point toy guns at motorists: RCMP

Three people have been arrested in two separate incidents involving firearms being pointed at people from vehicles.

Two teens are facing charges after they allegedly pointed toy guns at a moving vehicle multiple times on Thursday.

According to RCMP, the incident took place on the Trans-Canada Highway near Highway 13 just after 7 p.m.

Mounties said the driver and a passenger inside a vehicle heading west reportedly pointed a green firearm at a female motorist.

RCMP found the vehicle and initiated a high-risk traffic stop. Two male youths were taken into custody without incident.

During the arrest, more than 30 vehicles were stopped on the Trans-Canada Highway.

Police determined the firearms in the incident were toys.

Two 16-year-old males are both facing charges of common nuisance- endanger life.

They have been released on undertakings. None of the charges have been proven in court.
