Another Manitoba city is dealing with the effects of the deluge of rain on Monday night. The City of Dauphin said Tuesday morning that the city’s wastewater system has reached capacity. Residents are now being urged to limit water use until further notice to reduce the strain on the wastewater system. “Although all lift stations and pumps are operating as designed, they cannot keep up with the volume of water entering the system,” a notice from the city reads. Environment and Climate Change Canada said Dauphin received 50 millimetres of rainfall since Monday. The city is asking residents to postpone laundry and other water-intensive activities, delay the use of dishwashers, and limit the unnecessary use of showers, sinks and toilets. The City of Dauphin said it continues to closely monitor the situation.
