As we approach mid-October, we can sure feel the inevitability of cooler weather settling over Manitoba and northwestern Ontario Tuesday. Single-digit highs will prevail across all regions this afternoon. It will also be a grey day on either side of the provincial border. Southern Manitoba will remain dry, while scattered showers are possible in northern regions. The northernmost areas are the most likely to see showers in strong and gusty winds that will shift from the southwest to the northwest Tuesday afternoon. Similarly, showers or drizzle are likely across much of northwestern Ontario Tuesday. Despite dry conditions in the south this afternoon, Thanksgiving Monday’s rain left plenty of ground moisture. That, combined with clearing skies Tuesday night, could produce fog overnight into the Wednesday morning commute. Sunshine will return to Winnipeg Wednesday, before another round of showers Thursday. By Friday, we’re back to sunny skies and warmer, double-digit temperatures through the weekend into early next week.
