Cash reward for information on masked suspect in Brandon sexual assault

Police are investigating after a young woman was sexually assaulted over the weekend on a Brandon street.

The Brandon Police Service said the assault happened early Saturday morning around 20th Street south of Victoria Avenue.

Officers say an unidentified male suspect approached a young adult female from behind, forced her against a wall and assaulted her.

Police say the woman resisted and was able to escape without physical injury.

The suspect ran away immediately afterwards, officers say.

The suspect is described as tall and was wearing all black clothing along with a black ski mask.

Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect or providing information that may help in their investigation.

Officers are particularly interested to speak with anyone who was in the 500 to 700 block of 20th Street between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. on March 21, observed or heard anything suspicious or unusual in the area, has information about a person matching the suspect description, or may have relevant video footage, including home security or doorbell camera recordings.

“Any information, no matter how minor it may seem, could be valuable to the investigation,” police said in a news release.
