Some popular attractions around the city are temporarily closed – or will be closing soon - for some early spring cleaning. The Canadian Museum for Human Rights (CMHR) will be closed starting Sunday, Jan 11. for maintenance work. The museum says staff and contractors will be busy conducting inspections, cleaning, and making repairs. The CMHR will reopen to the public on Tuesday, Jan. 20 at 10 a.m. Meanwhile, Assiniboine Park Zoo’s annual maintenance work is also taking longer than expected. The zoo was supposed to re-open on Saturday following a few days of deep cleaning and repair work. However, zoo staff say an unexpected maintenance issue occurred at Tundra Grill and Polar Playground and that will push back the re-opening until Saturday, Jan. 17. The biomes at The Leaf will also be closed January 12 to 14 for a display change and garden maintenance. They will re-open at 12 p.m. on January 15. -With files from CTV’s Daniel Halmarson
