An annual event that aims to move Winnipeggers to hop on their bikes has rolled back into town for its 20th year. Bike to Work Day is pedaling back into Winnipeg on Tuesday with 74 pit stops set up across the city. Cyclists who stop by can enjoy food, drinks and prizes plus a little TLC for their rides, like tire pumping and minor tune-ups. Each pit stop is sponsored by a different group or organization. Manitoba Public Insurance is also hosting an all-day pit stop at The Forks. Students can also get in on the action. Bike to Work Day has teamed up with Tire Stewardship Manitoba to host a Bike to School pilot program, with selected schools hosting pit stops to welcome the public and student riders on Bike to Work Day. The event, which is in its 20th year, is part of the larger Bike to Work Week – a seven-day celebration aimed at encouraging people to ride their bikes and create a fun, engaging experience for all riders.
