A 24-year-old man is facing a lengthy list of drug and weapon-related charges after a drug bust at an apartment in Winnipeg’s Central Park neighbourhood. Police say they began investigating drug trafficking in the neighbourhood earlier this month. Last week, officers with the Winnipeg Police Service’s organized crime unit and tactical support team searched an apartment on Cumberland Avenue. According to police, they found 21 loaded restricted handguns, a silencer, a mixture of ammunition of various calibres, 27 grams of cocaine with an estimated street value of $2,160, about $25,000 in Canadian cash, a laptop and two cell phones. A 24-year-old man faces dozens of weapons and drug charges, none of which have been tested in court. He was detained in custody.
