Windsor shooting trial: victim’s medical records reviewed

The trial of two Essex County men accused in a non-fatal 2023 shooting continued.

The trial of two Essex County men accused in a non-fatal downtown Windsor shooting in 2023 continued on Thursday.

Both face multiple charges, including discharging a firearm and assault.

During cross-examination, the defence reviewed the American victim’s medical records, including notes documenting his condition after each visit, from Windsor to Detroit.

The victim, who was shot in the foot, at times appeared unsure about some of the entries, leading the defence to suggest his injuries and treatment may have been overstated.

The victim disagreed, pointing to two skin grafts as evidence.

Although he acknowledged he may have been overly optimistic during parts of his recovery.

The trial resumes Friday and is expected to conclude next week.
