A 55-year-old man is facing 11 charges after Windsor, Ont. police linked him to three residential break-ins in south Windsor, including one where a homeowner was asleep inside the home. The Windsor Police Service (WPS) says officers were called to a break-and-enter at a home in the 3700 block of Whitney Avenue early in the morning on July 22. Investigators say the suspect damaged a large section of a fence to gain access to the property, spray-painted the surveillance cameras, and stole several items from a detached garage. Police say the same suspect was later connected to another break-in earlier that morning at a residence in the 3700 block of Myrtle Avenue. According to investigators, the suspect attended the property shortly before 3 a.m., spray-painted a surveillance camera, and stole several items from a shed. Investigators also linked the suspect to a break-and-enter in the 2800 block of Northway Avenue on July 13. According to police, the suspect entered an attached garage and stole property before entering the home while the homeowner was asleep. Additional items were reported stolen from inside the residence. Police identified the suspect and located him in the 1700 block of Northway Avenue shortly before 7 p.m. on July 30. He was taken into custody following a brief foot pursuit. The 55 year old has been charged with two counts of break-and-enter and commit to a place other than a dwelling, one count of break-and-enter and commit to a dwelling house, three counts of wearing a disguise with intent to commit an indictable offence, two counts of mischief under $5,000, and three counts of breach of probation.
