Windsor fire responds to blaze in home with ‘extreme hoarding’ restricting efforts

Windsor Fire says ‘extreme hoarding’ added an extra challenge to a blaze on Wednesday night.

Windsor fire officials were on the scene of an upgraded structure fire in the 3800 block of Byng Road on Wednesday evening.

According to officials, efforts to extinguish the blaze were made more difficult due an ‘extreme hoarding condition’ inside of the single storey home.

The blaze began as a cooking fire in the kitchen of the home, and was quickly knocked down by responding crews.

Damages are estimated at approximately $100,000, no injuries were reported as a result.
