Team Canada included Mattia Klinger of Lakeshore, Finley Stedman of Tecumseh, Gabriella Hesse of Chatham, and Lauren Murphy of Windsor. They competed against more than 11,00 dancers from more than 60 countries. Canada secured a ninth-place overall finish in the medal standings with the local dancers securing a gold medal in the Junior Contemporary Group category, a silver medal in Junior Hip Hop Group, and received top honours in the Junior Classical Division for their contemporary routine, recognizing it as the highest-scoring routine in the division. “These accomplishments reflect months of dedication, hard work, and the unwavering support of their families, coaches, and the Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent communities that rallied behind them through their journey,” a news release read.
