Ottawa paramedics say a man was taken to the hospital in life-threatening condition after being struck by a vehicle on Highway 417 Wednesday evening. According to Ottawa paramedics spokesperson Marc-Antoine Deschamps, the collision occurred in the eastbound lanes of the highway near Parkdale Avenue around 8:20 p.m. Deschamps says the man sustained life-threatening injuries. Ontario Provincial Police Sgt. Erin Cranton says officers were sent to the scene of the crash but no additional information is available at this time. The highway remains open at this time.
