Windsor-Detroit Tunnel to temporarily close this weekend for emergency response training exercise

The Windsor-Detroit Tunnel will be closed for around dour hours on Sunday morning.

If you plan to cross the border Sunday morning, the Windsor-Detroit tunnel will be closed for several hours while an emergency response exercise is conducted.

Between the hours of 6 a.m. and 10 a.m., the only traffic that will be allowed access are emergency services from both Windsor and Detroit, along with CBSA and CBP.

Officials say the planned exercise is a critical part of the emergency response procedures, ensuring both sides of the border can work together in the event an emergency occurs.

The tunnel will reopen to normal operations at 10 a.m. on Sunday, March 22.
