Two million pounds of food delivered by Forgotten Harvest

Forgotten Harvest Canada has rescued two million pounds of food and delivered it to agencies in Windsor-Essex.

The major milestone included 33 food donors and 52 recipient agencies over three years.

"We would like to thank our community leaders, agencies and partners for helping us reach this significant milestone in just three short years," Michele Legere, Forgotten Harvest Canada food rescue and community outreach manager, said in a news release. "We are committed to doing the work our community needs.”

To put the amount into perspective, the food rescue operation uses one pound of food for one meal. That means there has been two million meals delivered.
