A red tornado warning that was issued for Chatham-Kent has since been lifted. Environment Canada meteorologists were tracking a large thunderstorm system that they said had the potential to produce a tornado. The alert was initially issued for the Glencoe area, but it quickly moved eastward toward John E. Pearce Provincial Park before proceeding to Moraviantown and Thamesville. The warning also blanketed Chatham-Kent for a period of time. The warning was one that Environment Canada called a ‘very dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation.’ Currently, a tornado has not been confirmed.
