In a statement released Tuesday evening, the zoo said it worked closely with local authorities while the situation was investigated. “Upon further investigation, it was determined there was no credible threat,” the zoo said. The zoo also noted similar calls have been reported at zoos across the country in recent weeks, though no related incidents or injuries have been reported. “The safety and well-being of our guests, staff, volunteers, and animals who call the Zoo home is our highest priority,” officials said. The Detroit Zoo was open as usual Wednesday.
