Sunny skies in forecast, with midweek shower chances

London, Ont. residents can look forward to a mainly sunny start on Sunday, with Environment Canada forecasting pleasant temperatures and clearer skies.

As of Sunday morning, there were no air quality alerts in effect for London, but areas further southwest were still under a yellow air quality alert.

Environment Canada says to expect a shift in weather patterns mid-week, bringing with it a chance of showers.

Sunny skies and a high of 24C is expected on Sunday. The humidex will make it feel like 27C, and the UV index will be very high at 8. Tonight, conditions will remain clear with a low of 10C.

Extended forecast for the London area:

• Monday promises another sunny day, with temperatures climbing to a high of 26C and a humidex of 29C. The UV index will be exceptionally high at 9. As evening approaches, clouds will move in, bringing a 40 per cent chance of showers and a low of 18C.
• On Tuesday the chance of precipitation increases, with cloudy skies and a 60 per cent likelihood of showers throughout the day. The high will be 23C. The night will remain cloudy with a 30 percent chance of showers and a low of 14C.
• Wednesday sees a slight decrease in shower activity, with cloudy skies and a 30 percent chance of showers expected. The high temperature will be 20C. The evening is forecast to clear up, with a low of 12C.
• Sunshine returns on Thursday, July 23, with a high of 24C. The night will be clear, dropping to a low of 14C.
• Friday will see a mix of sun and cloud with a high of 25C. Friday night will bring cloudy periods and a low of 15C.
• On Saturday, another day expected to feature a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 25C.
