Workers at the Windsor Assembly Plant were thrilled on Tuesday, thanks to the third shift set to return in February. Stellantis announced hiring has begun in preparation. The shift was originally cut give years ago. With its return, there’s a renewed sense of optimism at the plant. “I think it’s a great opportunity for everybody. I just got hired recently because of the third shift. So, a lot more jobs for people off the streets. And people looking for something,” said Lexi, a worker at Stellantis. “Really, having it come back opens up more opportunities for a lot of new hires, I think. We have quite a few new people coming in so third shift, actually awesome,” another worker, Gauge, said. Maddy chipped in and said it’s going to help a lot of people, including her. “I know a couple of people who are also getting hired currently waiting on the third shift to start, hopefully soon. And I can’t wait to get started with it. It’s going to bring a lot to the city and a lot to my family and friends as well,” she said.
