Shots fired at WPS officer at Glengarry apartment

Windsor police are investigating after shots of some sort were fired at an officer.

Just after 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, police executed an arrest warrant on behalf of another police agency at an apartment in the 300 block of Glengarry Avenue.

As officers were getting ready to leave, they said shots were fired near the east parking lot of 333 Glengarry Avenue. Initial shots looked like they were directed at a uniformed officer, WPS said. A nearby police cruiser was also hit, leaving holes in the rear window and body of the vehicle.

The WPS searched the area, but no suspects were found.

It’s not yet clear whether the shots were fired from a firearm or a pellet or BB gun.

Anyone who was in the area between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. who has surveillance or dash cam footage is asked to contact the WPS Major Crimes Unit at 519-255-6700 ext. 4830.
