The Ouellette Car Cruise is back, bringing hundreds of classic cars, hot rods, muscle cars and motorcycles to downtown Windsor. Organizers are encouraging participants to register before spots fill up for the Festival Plaza car show, which begins at 1 p.m. Registration is $10 per vehicle. The public is invited to check out the vehicles throughout the afternoon. Ward 3 Coun. Renaldo Agostino, says there will be something for everyone before vehicles hit the road Friday evening. “There’s going to be music, there’s going to be food trucks, there’s going to be games. It’s a great experience,” Agostino said. “They’re going to see just a little bit of everything, and a lot of our history on the cruise of great vehicles or parts that came out of this city,” he said. According to Agostino, the event draws people of all ages to the downtown core. “It’s just such a spectacle and it brings out families, it brings out kids, brings out seniors. It’s a great time,” he added. The cruise itself gets underway at 6 p.m., following the same route used last year, taking a lap around Ouellette Avenue, Tecumseh Road East, Pillette Road and Riverside Drive East. The cruise is part of a busy weekend downtown that also includes a Chatham Street after-party, live entertainment, including KISS tribute band: Destroyer, and other community events.
