Earthquakes Canada reports a minor earthquake in Amherstburg on New Year’s Day.

Earthquakes Canada has confirmed a ‘lightly felt’ earthquake hit Amherstburg around 11:20 a.m. Thursday.

The division of Natural Resources Canada said the quake had a magnitude of 2.2 MwN and was five kilometres below ground.

Earthquakes Canada said it received 150 reports of the quake.
