A man has been arrested after Windsor police said he cut off his ankle monitor one hour after being released on bail. On Dec. 24, 2025, 39-year-old Jordan Scott Runstedler was released on bail on multiple theft-related charges. Bail conditions required him to live with his surety, stay on house arrest, and comply with electric monitoring. One hour after his release, police said Rundstedler breached conditions by cutting off his ankle monitor and leaving his home in the 1600 block of Ouellette Avenue. On Monday, the Windsor Police Service Problem-Oriented Policing Unit tried to arrest him at a home in the 1600 block of St. Luke Road. Upon arrival at the home, Rundstedler allegedly left via a second-floor window, trying to run away. He was found shortly after, hiding under a porch. He was arrested without incident. Rundstedler is now facing additional charges of mischief under $5,000 and two counts of failure to comply with a release order.
