Hold on to your hats: strong winds prompt Special Weather Statement

A windy day in Windsor, Ont.

Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement for Windsor-Essex due to strong winds in the forecast.

Strong southwest winds are expected to be gusting 80 to 90 kilometres per hour beginning Wednesday morning and ending Thursday.

Environment Canada is warning the public about possible hazards. Local utility outages are possible. High-sided vehicles will be pushed around by the wind. Loose objects may be tossed by the wind.
